Meeting Andy Burnham

Stgilesmedical is currently making two films to encourage ‘what matters to you?’ conversations, because it’s important to talk about what matters now and in the future.

While making two films to encourage ‘what matters to you?’ conversations, Stgilesmedical sought the voice of a politician. Andy Burnham, the mayor of Manchester and former health secretary, gave some time out of his busy schedule to meet with us over Zoom. It was important for the film to hear from people who have power in policymaking, and their views on the value of having ‘what matters to you?’ conversations.

Talking to us from Manchester, Andy was friendly and interesting to listen to. He was enthusiastic about promoting lifelong conversations with family, friends, or healthcare professionals about what matters, and spoke about how such conversations’ importance has been highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a pleasure to meet with Andy.
